Women’s History Month: Mohiniyattam - Natural Power of Women - Queens Public Library - Flushing

This presentation uniquely illuminates the power of women in tune with Women’s History Month. Mohiniyattam, native to the South Indian State of Kerala, is one of the 8 classical dances of India. It is performed by women only and is aligned with the worship of the Mother Goddess, Mother Nature, and Divine Feminine Energy.

Performers: Julia Kulakova is a musical theater performer who uses the Internal Arts - Tai Chi Quan, QiGong, Yoga, and ancient dances - to create transformational experiences. Angelina Haque is a classical Indian dancer. She has brought her passion for Indian dance to some of the world's most prominent stages, from Moscow’s Tchaikovsky’s Hall to New York’s Alvin Ailey Theater. She studied with Guru Bharati Shivaji, Ashwani Nigam, and Janaki Patrik.
