Women's History Month: NĀ MELE HAWAIʻI — SONGS OF HAWAIʻI - Queens Public Library - Flushing
Join us for an afternoon of mele (songs) and hula (dance), with musicians Kanileʻa Goddard and Kainoa Yasui, and dancer Kawena. The program will feature an array of standards from the canon of 20-21st century Hawaiian music, and share hula ʻauana that animate stories from Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Maui, and Hawaiʻi islands. A short Q&A will follow the performance.
