What our organization offers:
Subjects / Categories:
A progressive and warm environment where your child's unique style of learning and developing is valued and nurtured. As the Chabad City Gan continues to grow, we strive to keep our school a small, non- institutionalized style preschool. We are a preschool founded on love and warmth and view each child as our own. We continue to enhance our our educational program, and we always welcome parent feedback to ensure the happiness of each child!

We have a toddler, 3K and PreK program for children ages 18 mos old to 5 years old.

Our 3K and PreK  program is from

8:30am - 2:50 pm with an after school option from 2:50  pm -6:00 pm.

Just next door,  we offer a Toddler and After School Program.  Our Toddler program offers a variety of schedules to fit your needs.  We have 2, 3, 4 and 5 day options.  Each day begins at 8:30 am and we have end times of 12:30, 2:30 and up until 6 pm . Tuition information is given out at tours or during individual inquiries.

After school Program

At our 1025 location, we offer an After School  Program that is open to the entire neighborhood, and we offer pick up from PS78.   After School is open until 6 pm.  See After School Tab for more details.

Camp

Specials at City Gan

Weekly specialty include Sports, Yoga, Music and Movement, Art Class, all led by professional and engaging instructors.

Throughout the year, we have programs to involve the children’s extended family. These include Dads N Donuts, Gardening with Grandparents, Mommy and Me Challah Bake, and Annual Friday Night Family Dinner.

Friday’s at City Gan are very special. Each week, the children make and bake fresh Challah from scratch. Baking teaches the children patience, early math skills, and life skills. The classes have a Shabbat party together teaching the children the concept of including and loving others. The children have a Shabbat party with songs, reading, and blessing the candles, wine (grape juice) and Challah. Each week a child takes home the Shabbat Box which gives his family an opportunity to celebrate Shabbat together in their own unique way, which then gets journaled and is discussed in school the following week.

Mitzvah Notes

Good deed notes are filled out every day at drop off and read to the children out loud during the day. This encourages positive behavior, teaches the children that their actions matter, and gives the children a strong sense of self worth and self confidence.

Parent Involvement

Dad, Mom, a relative, or a friend are invited to come once during the year to do a craft, puppet s show, or tell us about their career! This makes the children feel that where they spend their days is as important to their parents as where go to work daily.

Special Visitors/Trips

We love exploring our neighborhood! We make sure to say hello to our local mail woman, UPS delivery man, and Mr. Fruit man at the corner of Dunkin Donuts. We love visiting our local firehouse, police station, and enjoy a very educational visit from the Dentist!

Snack & Lunch

We provide a healthy variety of snacks and delicious catered hot lunches.

Our after school program , located in our 10-29 building is open to all children in the neighborhood, even if they aren't enrolled in our preschool. Our hours are from 2:50pm- 6pm from Monday-Friday. We offer pick up from local schools. Our after school program has a fun schedule which focuses on the children's social and literacy skills, with the weekly specials and visits to the library.
